What is The Highway Shepherd?
The Highway Shepherd is a home missions project working to spread the Gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ to truckers and travelers across the United States and around the world. We place CDs of Gospel preaching and singing in truck and travel stops throughout the country. These CDs are absolutely free to anyone who would receive them.
Our Mission
It is our desire to spread the Gospel of God's son Jesus Christ who came to earth as a man, gave his life on the Cross of Calvary to pay the debt for our sins, and three days later arose from the grave so that we might have eternal life. The Bible tells us in Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." The Bible also tells that unless we accept Jesus Christ as our personal savior, we will spend eternity in Hell - totally separated from God. Plain and simple, it is our desire that you might come to know Jesus Christ as your personal savior, and that if your are already saved, you might have a closer walk with the Lord.
Background
The Highway Shepherd was started as a home missions project in 1994 by Dr. Billy Cashwell. Since it's inception, the Highway Shepherd has given out thousands of tapes and CDs to truckers and travelers alike. Dr. Cashwell receives letters and phone calls every week from people all over the United States describing how the CDs have helped strengthen their Christian faith and brought them closer to God. Some listeners have even accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Praise the Lord!
The Bible says in Matthew 22:9: "Go ye therefore into the highways...". What newer highway to "Go ye therefore into..." than The Information Superhighway - The Internet! Through the Internet, the Highway Shepherd is now able to spread the Good news of Christ around the world. Please pray for God's Will to be done through this ministry and that people might come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior before it is too late.
